Deep Savanna
Upland soils greater than 20 inches in depth, with a coarse (sandy or gravelly)
texture. The site is composed of soils that support mid and tall grasses mixed with post oak, blackjack
oak, or shortleaf pine and other woody vegetation. The vegetation was formed under migratory grazing
and heavy impact from bison and other native wildlife, with fires in both the dormant and growing
